What is the Videostrip Network?
The Videostrip Network is a collection of web media properties carrying a broad range of video content. Underlying all of these websites is the Videostrip Internet TV Service, which enables video publishing, storage delivery and distribution. When you join the Videostrip Network, your content will be reviewed for participation in our ad network. If appropriate, Videostrip will sell advertising in your content and give you at least 50% of the resulting net ad revenue.

Advertisers in the Videostrip Network will consist of a variety of national brand marketers and niche, local, and direct advertisers. We do not carry advertising for pornography, alcohol, tobacco, firearms, or online gambling.
Do you exclude any types of advertisers?
Yes. We exclude advertising for pornography, alcohol, tobacco, firearms, and online gambling.
Can I exclude certain advertisers?
No. Today there is no facility for publishers to exclude certain advertisers or categories of advertiser.
How much can I expect to earn from the Videostrip Network?
For a variety of reasons, it is difficult to forecast revenue for individual publishers. Ultimately your earnings potential will be a function of the number of viewers you draw, the quality of content you publish, and the frequency with which you publish new content. Some advertising, particularly video ads from national brand marketers, is sold on a CPM basis—every thousand views of an ad earns a certain amount of money. That amount is purely based on market demand. In this case, more viewers directly translates into more revenue. There are a number of criteria to meet before ads are delivered in your content. Pre-roll video ads have a more stringent set of requirements, including a larger minimum threshold and content that is appropriate for national brand advertisers. To receive video ads, we typically require a minimum of 25,000 monthly title plays before your content is queued up for review.
What counts as a title play?
A title play occurs when someone clicks the play button to watch a title from your account or if the player is set to play a title automatically. Title plays are counted whether the title exists in a player on your website or one of your affiliate's websites. Titles played on Videostrip.com do not count toward the advertising minimum threshold.
Where can I check how many title plays have occurred in my account?
You can check your total monthly title plays by signing into the Videostrip console and going to the Reports tab.
If ads are displayed in my content, what types of ads will they be?
Ads appear in a variety of formats designed to provide a great user experience and the best earnings potential for you. Formats that Videostrip can deliver include instream video, overlay, and banners.
How often do ads run, and how long do they last?
Ads will not be longer than 15 seconds in length, and frequency depends on the type of ad unit. Pre-roll ads will typically run at the beginning of every other video view. Post-roll ads will run after every video view.
How can I get better post-roll ads?
Post-roll text ads are targeted to the tags (or keywords) in your content, so more accurate tags result in more relevant ads, more clicks, and therefore more revenue. Poor tagging will result in generic ads, which will likely earn very little.
How do I get pre-roll ads?
Pre-roll and/or video ads are typically purchased by national brand advertisers and therefore have a stringent set of requirements for the content they appear within. To receive video ads, the content must be original and rights-cleared; must not contain profanity or mature themes. Additionally, because most pre-roll video ads today are sold with an adjacent companion banner ad, the content must appear in a player that supports this 468*60 ad format.
Do I have any ability to change ad policy settings, or restrict what content ads can be shown in?
No. As a Network publisher, you agree to the ad policies, formats, and advertisers that Videostrip integrates into your content
When and how do I get paid my ad earnings?
Publisher earnings are reported and paid out monthly, approximately one month after the minimum payment threshold of €100 has been achieved. Reports will include, at minimum, ad impressions delivered and revenue generated. We are working on further automation to increase the frequency of payments and availability of reports. The reporting and payment mechanisms in the Videostrip Console currently do not apply to advertising activity in your account.
Where can I see how much I have earned from advertising?
There is currently no reporting or payment information related to advertising in the Videostrip console. Your earnings will be reported and paid quarterly.
How can I avoid ads in my content?
If you are not interested in earning revenue through video advertising, consider switching to the Ad free Videostrip page.
Can I supplement Videostrip ads with my own pre-roll or post-roll ads?
Today, there is limited facility to allow publishers to sell their own ads into their Videostrip players. Contact us with questions.
Can I make my content available for others to put on their site?
Yes. Publishers within the Videostrip Network can syndicate their content and are encouraged to participate in the Syndication Marketplace Videonews247.com. At this time, Videostrip affiliates are compensated monetarily for distributing content from Network accounts that offer this option with 20%.
Where can I get more technical information about Videostrip?
You can find more detailed technical information about Videostrip in the Videostrip Manual.
